Brainstorm Blog #2 - Exquisite Corpse Soundscape

I haven't been able to come up with a lot of ideas for this project yet, but I think I want to make my Exquisite Corpse sound very ominous and creepy, depending on the sounds I can get for it. To give this effect I would probably have a lower volume, mostly quiet project. As well as plenty of use from the reverb and echo effects. I might see if I can make it seem like walking through a cave or dark alley, especially if I get some dripping water sound effects. Maybe someone screaming off in the distance. Instead of having tons and tons of sounds going off everywhere, I think I'm going to try to make it seem like the rest of the world is dead silent, but there is creepy stuff happening around the listener as they traverse this scary place. Or, if I change my mind and decide to do the exact opposite, I could go for full chaos and make it seem almost like the listener is within a circus or similarly somewhere else busy. Middle of downtown during peak hours, stuck in rush hour traffic, etc, and just try to go for an overwhelming and busy feeling. I will make my final decision when I go through the sounds and know what I have to work with, but as of right now I have two completely different directions I could go in. Either an ominous, scary experience, or an overwhelming, claustrophobic feeling. But who knows, maybe after listening to all the sounds I decide to go in a whole new direction.
