Our third project of the semester, the Daydream video, was a ton of fun to make. Yes, it did require a lot of outside work on the project, A LOT, but at least we were warned by the Professor. Since it was so work heavy, I do wish I started actually grinding on it sooner, but it was nice to have a relaxing spring break. The animation part was super enjoyable. I spent many hours working on it, but I just put in both headphones, turned on some chill music, and the time flew by extremely fast. The real life videos were very funny to make, especially trying to get my dog, Bailey, to get the shots right. It reminded me of my early childhood when me and my friends would try to make movies at daycare and were setting up scenes like we were really working on a movie. Initially, I planned on using a still image of myself and of Bailey for the animation. But on our first workday when I was just familiarizing myself with After Effects, I used an image of a Ken doll, and thought it would be funny to have myself be a Ken doll (especially cause people tell me I sort of look like "ken" sometimes) and have Bailey be some other well-known figure. I googled "famous black and white dog" and quickly read snoopy and decided to run with it. While I was working on the credits, I realized I had a bunch of blooper clips that my girlfriend recorded that I would love to show also, so I thought it would be cool to do the "behind the scenes" clips at the end, like movies sometimes do. I feel like that part turned out very well and I am proud of that. Overall, I am proud of how the project turned out, and I was nervous to show it to other people, but people seem to enjoy it and find it funny. It was also fun to do with my girlfriend and she was happy to help with the recordings and giving ideas for the scenes. This was also the easiest artist statement to write, by far, which tells me how much more thought and passion I had into this project. It was very fun!
